Wetland Wander:

Walk Leader: Hugh Prichard (he/him)
Hugh Prichard is a retired businessman and civic leader. He has worked with over 20 nonprofit and government organizations throughout a 40+ year career in Eugene. He is a Master Gardener through OSU Extension and has lived on the property adjacent to the Laurelwood Bog for over 50 years. He began to design and build the bog 14 years ago and works on it with his grandsons almost every day.

About the Walk:
The Laurelwood Bog is on both private land and Laurelwood Golf Course land, and it participates in the Eugene Adopt-a-Park program. The growth of the native flora has been surprising and gratifying, with mature shrubs 10 to 15 feet tall and willows over 40 feet tall. Over 113 native species have been planted and most, but not all, have survived. The Laurelwood Bog is accessible during all daylight hours. Hugh will lead us through the bog for the first half of the wander, then attendees will get the opportunity to do some self-guided exploration at the site. For more info, contact hugh@prichardpartners.com or info@wewetlands.org.
